Berlanga is set to face Belfast's Padraig McCrory at the Caribe Royale Resort in Orlando, Florida. This clash of unbeaten super middleweights will take the spotlight on a February 24 DAZN event. In a prior bout in April 2021, Berlanga (21-0, 16KOs) ventured into the greater Orlando Area, securing an eight-round unanimous decision win against Demond Nicholson. That night marked a shift as the Brooklyn-based Nuyorican, known for his knockout prowess, went the distance for the first time in his career, earning cheers from the partisan crowd at the Silver Spurs Arena in Kissimmee, a heavily Boricua-populated region of Florida. Prior to that fight, Berlanga had a remarkable sixteen-fight knockout streak. However, the Nicholson bout became the kickoff for a series of five consecutive fights where he went to the scorecards. Despite dropping Ireland's Jason Quigley four times, Berlanga couldn't resume his knockout streak and went the full twelve rounds, ultimately winning by unanimous decision. Interestingly, McCrory was initially considered as an opponent for Berlanga's previous fight. However, a decision from DAZN's staff led to a different choice. Now, the 35-year-old fringe contender, making his U.S. debut, finally gets his chance to face Berlanga in the ring.
